Description:This oil on canvas signed and dated by John Thirlwall in 1999 was a Millenium commission painting for the Borough Museum and Art Gallery in Newcastle-under-Lyme. The painting depicts St Giles' Church and churchyard amongst clearing storm clouds with a woman in the bottom right of the picture putting down her umberella.
