Date:1935
Description:This photograph taken in 1935 shows the view looking up the Ironmarket in Newcastle-under-Lyme to the Nelson Place roundabout. A bus can be seen going round the roundabout and a few cars can be seen along the Ironmarket, there are no road markings however! To the right of the picture behind the trees lies the Queen's Gardens. Beyond the line of trees in the centre of the picture the Plaza Cinema can be seen, this later became the Roxy Cinema, but was demolished in 1963. Although much has changed, this scene is still recognisable in Newcastle today.
