Description:Taken in 1935 this photograph of the roundabout at Nelson Place in Newcastle-under-Lyme depicts the view from the Ironmarket looking up King Street. The roundabout is a lot smaller than the roundabout that stands there today. The flowers around it read 'Borough of Newcastle-under-Lyme' and an ornate lampost stands in its centre. To the right of the roundabout the Plaza Cinema can be seen and in front of that the statue of Queen Victoria that now stands in the Queen's Gardens.
