Description:The Magneto Electric Machine was an early electro-therapeutic device. It was to used to treat 'nervous disorders'. A patient would place their fingers in the metal tubes and an electric current was generated by turning the handle. The faster the handle was turned the stronger the electric current that was supplied. Electric-Shock therapy is now considered a taboo but when electricity was first invented the patients who were subjected to the treatment felt like something was being done to treat their condition, as they actually could feel the therapy happening.
