Description:Stoneyfield was an open field on the boundary between Penkhull and Wolstanton.
The large house called 'Stoneyfields' was built on a plot on the southern edge of it for the Newcastle solicitor Henry Hatrell around 1780.
It changed hands many times and was formerly the home of William Bent. Later it became Morgan's Insurance offices until 1999 and has since became The Polite Vicar.
