Description:These are the Civic Offices of Newcastle Borough Council. People are gathering for the visit of Queen Elizabeth. In 1973 Newcastle celebrated its Octocentenary, to mark the 800th anniversary of the granting of the charter which gave Newcastle Borough status. The visit by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip was part of the octocentenary celebrations.
