Description:The town planning scheme allocated areas or zones for different types of development such as residential, industry and public open space (the colour codes can be seen on the index map).
Development had to comply with the Town Scheme and also shows principal road proposals and building areas.

This maps shows the planning for part of Chesterton.
In Chesterton the areas marked are special industry (striped purple), high density housing (yellow), cemeteries and graveyards (green and yellow), allotments (brown and white) and housing (red).
