Description:The town planning scheme allocated areas or zones for different types of development such as residential, industry and public open space (the colour codes can be seen on the index map). Development had to comply with the Town Scheme and also shows principal road proposals and building areas.

This map of Wolstanton, May Bank and Cross Heath shows high levels of potential development. Much of the land has been earmarked for housing (yellow and orange) and also a large area for public buildings (blue and white) where Wolstanton High School and Hempstalls Primary School will be built.
The large public spaces you can see (green) is Wolstanton Marsh.

Digitisation funded by heritage lottery Fund.
