Description:A compulsory purchase order from 1956 consisting of 7 streets (Princess Street, York Street, Clarence Street, Cumberland Street, Lockwood Street, Boundary Street, George Street.) and 221 properties.
According to the reports the houses were generally in poor condition.
Problems included ground moisture, paving and outside toilets being far from the back door.
