Description:We believe this bodice to be from around the turn of the 20th century. Made from black satin, it has long sleeves, and crosses over at the front of the body and fastened with press studs. It has a high neckline embelished with butterfly motifs. The waist ruffle indicates that it could be Edwardian in style, they often used sashes and belts to give the illusion of smaller waists for the hourglass figure. During the Edwardian period 'puffed' out blouses became fashionable as did sleeves which were wider at the top.
